Product Description
Product Features Description The Digital Concepts 2x teleconverter (also known as a tele-extender) will multiply the focal length of the existing lens by 2x, and will cut back the amount of light by 2 f/stops. This precision optical accessory, which is compatible with your Nikon SLR camera, allows you to increase the focal length of your lens without sacrificing optical quality. For example, using a 2x teleconverter with a 300mm lens will effectively increase the focal length to 600mm. A lens set to f/2.8 will now be f/5.6. It also reduce depth of field to the 50% of the master lens.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing   June 17, 2010

As with all products, read all the reviews as peoples' experiences may vary. I have a large (800m) lens that I have to use on Manual. I wanted a 2x converter to use with my smaller Nikon lenses that would enable me to use the AF feature. I do sports photography with moving subjects so manual focus is not much of an option. This converter gives me the "no lens attached" message when used between my Nikon camera and Nikon lens and the AF does not work. So for my purposes this is no use whatsoever. The included info sheet says it works with Nikon AF lenses but it does not. I wish I had spent a lot more on an expensive Nikon adapter which I will have do now anyway but at least I have an expensive paperweight now :(

4 out of 5 stars Teleconverter for Nikon D60   August 20, 2009
Michael A. Berson (Maryland)
The teleconverter provides an adequate two power increase in focal length. However, the auto focus feature of my Nikon D60 is intermittant when I use it. Despite this limitation, the teleconverter is still a very good value.

I purchased this lens to increase the telephoto magnification of a Nikon ED AF-S 70-200 lens. It maintains the automatic focus characteristics and the photo qualities of the Nikon (to my amateur eyes). I feel it is a very good value and definitely serves my purposes.

For the money you can't beat this teleconverter. It is almost as good as my Nikon TC 17E when used on the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 VR lens or the Nikon 300 f2.8 lens. The autofocus slows down some but I was surprised to find that the VR continues to work with this optic. I've been working in good light so there my be issues when the conditions are less than ideal but overall, I recommend the product.

If you want a teleconverter, spend more for better quality. The pictures Ive taken with this are poor quality.
